    A Day in the Life of a Community Outreach Representative:

     

    The Community Outreach Representative reports to the Manager of MeridianCare Sales and is responsible for educating members, prospective members and community organizations about Meridian’s Medicare products within an assigned region.  They develop productive relationships with faith based and community based organizations, schedule and lead informal marketing events, create outreach strategies and monitor sales agent compliance.  The Community Outreach Representative assists Meridian’s external sales force and increases Meridian’s presence and brand awareness within the local community.  

     

    Responsibilities

    • Promotes Meridian and Meridian’s Medicare products through grassroots marketing and community outreach strategies 
    • Builds, develops and maintains community partnerships with local organizations, associations, clubs and provider offices within an assigned area
    • Coordinates and leads field based marketing and retention events
    • Schedules meetings and delivers presentations to community organizations and leaders
    • Develops and participates in community events geared toward targeted populations
    • Collects and tracks prospective member leads
    • Supports external sales team at events and monitors compliance
    • Represents Meridian in a positive and professional manner
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    What you can bring to Meridian:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
    • State insurance license preferred.  Must be obtained with 60 days of employment
    • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in a Medicare or managed care environment with relevant experience in one or more of the following areas; Medicare sales and marketing, community outreach, community marketing, broker agency, and/or other related positions
    • Strong knowledge of local community organizations and existing community partnerships
    • Previous community event coordination experience preferred
    • Experience presenting to large groups and engaging prospects preferred
    • Experience working with or within non-profit organizations preferred
    • Medicare field sales and marketing experience preferred
    • Experience handling insurance agents / brokers preferred
