    A Day in the Life of an IT Asset Manager:


    This position is responsible for processes associated with IT Asset Management, Inventory, and Configuration Management. The responsibilities include but not limited to planning, designing processes, implementation, communication, adoption, execution and continual improvement of IT Asset Management and Configuration Management related processes.


    • Manages and seeks to continually improve IT Asset Management processes for Meridian Technologies
    • Acts as IT Asset Management Process Owner. Identifies and implements opportunities to better govern Inventory and Asset Management processes through continual service improvement. Gains concurrence from stakeholders on improvements
    • Administrates and manages the entry and modification of hardware and software assets into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
    • Defines, maintains, and updates policies and procedures for effective asset life cycle management (acquisition, deployment, utilization, de-installation, reallocation and disposal) of IT assets and inventory
    • Coordinates the disposal of end of life assets following best practices and established policy
    • Identifies and implements opportunities to better govern Inventory and Asset Management processes through continual service improvement
    • Provides support in unifying and automating multiple, diverse, disparate tools and processes into an integrated technology solution: IT Asset Management Tool (ITAM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
    • Understanding of software licensing models and SACM
    • Subject Matter Expert on documentation and process flows in ITAM and CMDB tools
    • Coordinates with administrators of with discovery tools to maintain relationships and accuracy within the CMDB.
    • Performs inventories and audits to monitor validity of CMDB.
    • Collects and manages configuration data in asset tracking database and ensure information is up-to-date, accurate, and auditable
    • Coordinates with stakeholders to plan or execute inventories of assets and consumable inventory.
    • Works with stakeholders to reconcile Fixed Assets reports for disposed or transferred IT equipment to maintain integrity of fixed asset detail.
    • Determine and maintain inventory levels and with purchasing and other stake holders to ensure sufficient levels of stock are on hand to respond to requests and incidents.
    • Ensure inventory areas are kept in an orderly fashion with sufficient security and controls in place to protect the assets
    • Tracks lifecycle of IT assets
    • Perform other duties as assigned




    Job Requirements:


    • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area is required.
      • Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
    • CITAM, CHAMP and/or CSAM certifications preferred
    • ITIL Certifications and/or training preferred
    • ITAM/SACM Related Certifications preferred



    • 3 years’ experience as an IT Asset Manager
    • Experience with inventory management, CMDB processes, tools, and administration
    • 2+ years of IT Experience in an analytical or operations role
    • Experience in IT Service Delivery
    • Experience utilizing ServiceNow for IT Asset Management desirable 



    • Strong knowledge of asset management and inventory processes and procedures
    • Knowledge of IT Asset Management tools, processes, and best practices required
    • Strong understanding of PC and network software licensing and infrastructure hardware
    • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the asset management field
    • Knowledge of procurement and inventory processes and practices
    • Knowledge of ITIL preferred



    • Experience with the following Microsoft Products: Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint


    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to work on multiple projects/priorities in a deadline-driven environment
    • Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Resourceful and able to work independently with initial guidance and direction
    • Ability to leverage experience, demonstrate initiative and exercise good judgment in managing complex situations
